Privacy Policy
In Stock is built to answer one question — is this product available near me — and it collects only what that requires.
No account, no sign-up
You do not create an account to use In Stock. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we have no user database in which to store them.
What leaves your device
When you search, the product name or SKU you typed is sent to the retailer catalogue services we query so they can return matching products, prices and availability. If you have allowed location access, an approximate location such as your suburb or postcode may be included so results can be ordered by distance. We do not send a precise or continuous location, and we do not track your movements.
What stays on your device
Your Watchlist, your unit preference (kilometres or miles), your language and your search settings are stored on your own device. They are not uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes them.
Notifications
If you turn on a Watchdog alert and grant notification permission, the products you are watching are checked periodically so we can tell you when one becomes available. That check needs the product identifier and, for local availability, an approximate location. It does not need to know who you are, and we do not link it to an identity.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not build advertising profiles, and In Stock contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Others who process data for us
Retailer catalogue services receive your search terms in order to answer them, and handle that data under their own privacy policies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes the network requests needed to serve the app's services. These are the only categories of third party involved.
How long we keep things
We do not retain your searches in an identifiable form. Operational logs, which may include an IP address, are kept only briefly for security and reliability and are then discarded.
Children
In Stock is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because we hold no account and no identifiable profile, there is generally nothing personal for us to retrieve or delete. You can remove everything the app holds by clearing your Watchlist or deleting the app. If you believe we hold information about you and want it addressed, write to us and we will respond. Australian users may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if a privacy concern is not resolved to their satisfaction.
